Menu Icon

The first item on the REDIPlus Application bar is the Menu icon. When you click the Menu icon, a menu appears with the following options:

Sub-menu Options/Description

New

Sub-menu options include a list of all dialog boxes and monitors. Selecting one will open a new instance of the corresponding dialog box or monitor.

Workspace

Open, Save, Save As, Reset, and Close a Workspace Workspace files capture REDIPlus settings and configurations at the point that you save them, just as if you took a snapshot of REDIPlus., as well as Import Layouts. See the Working with Workspaces topic for more information.

Diagnostics

For Administrative support purposes only. You may be asked to use the following diagnostic tools:

  • Trace Route - checks your connection to the server.

  • Disk Diagnostic - checks the space on your hard drive.

  • Memory Diagnostic - checks your memory.

Symbol

Enables you to select the following Symbol properties:

  • Symbology - enables you to assign Symbology by security type. When you select Symbology, the Symbology dialog box appears. Select a Security Type (e.g., AMEX, CBOT, GLOBAL, NYSE), and then select the appropriate Symbology (e.g., US Symbol, Bloomberg ID, Reuters Instrument Code, SEDOL); the US Symbol Symbology defaults. Repeat this process until all the appropriate Symbology has been assigned to each Security Type.  When finished, click [OK].

  • Match Symbol - enables REDIPlus to match a symbol in your current drop-down list against a value you enter (given sufficient specificity), and populate that value in the Symbol field. For example, if IBM is in your current drop-down list, you can enter “I” (assuming there are no other symbols beginning with “I”) and IBM will be matched and populated. This option is selected by default; you can clear it to disable the Match Symbol functionality.

  • Add Symbol - enables REDIPlus to capture the values you enter in the Symbol field as part of the drop-down list. You can then select the values when needed. This option is selected by default; you can click it to disable the Add Symbol functionality.

Account

Enables you to select the following Account property:

  • Use Account Alias Only - when selected, REDIPlus will only display account aliases; the standard account number will only be displayed if an account alias does not exist.

  • Show Trade Lists Only - when selected, REDIPlus will only display Trade Lists in account drop-down list boxes.

Data Formatting

Enables you to select or clear the Format Quantity Field option which, when selected, automatically formats the quantity fields used for order entry with commas, as necessary (e.g., 1000 1,000).

Popup Alerts

Enables you to activate Popup Alert messages and Auto Beep Options corresponding to the following REDIPlus events:

  • Order Confirmed - you (or a user you supervise) submitted an order that has been validated and is open.

  • Order Execution - shares corresponding to an order that you (or a user you supervise) submitted have been executed.

  • Order Completion - all shares (the entire Original Quantity) associated with an order that you (or a user you supervise) submitted has been executed.

  • Order Rejection - an order that you (or a user you supervise) submitted has been rejected.

  • Order Cancelation - an order that you (or a user you supervise) submitted has been canceled.

  • Ticket Notification - you (or a user you supervise) has entered, updated, or canceled a Ticket.

For each REDIPlus event, you can configure the following settings:

  • Auto Beep Options - you can have REDIPlus generate an audible beep or custom tone (based on the .wav file of your choice) when an event is triggered. Select the Beep radio button for the standard beep, or if you want a custom tone, select the Wave File radio button, click [Browse], and select a .wav file. None (no beep or custom tone will be generated) defaults.

  • Show Popup Message - select the Show Popup Message checkbox to activate the Popup Alert messages described above.

When finished configuring Popup Alert Settings, click [OK].

Show All Price Types

Select to display all values in the Price Type drop-down list box, regardless of whether they are valid for the currently selected Destination.

Entry

Sub-menu options include a list of commonly used Entry dialog boxes. Selecting one will open a new instance of the corresponding dialog box.

Also, Supervisors can use the Send Message functionality to send messages to the personnel they supervise. If the user is not logged on, the message will appear the next time they log on.

Printer Setup

Enables you to access the standard Windows Print Setup dialog box, where you can select a printer and configure it as necessary.

Properties

Enables you to set the properties of the REDIPlus Application Bar and specify how the REDIPlus dialog boxes and monitors will appear if you have more than one monitor. Select Properties, and the Properties dialog box appears with three tabs:

  • Options - select or clear functionality by clicking the following buttons:

  • [Always on Top] - the REDIPlus Application bar will always be on top of all open windows.

  • [Auto Hide between uses] - the REDIPlus Application bar remains hidden until you roll your mouse over its location.

  • [Group Activate] - When you select a different application, all REDIPlus dialog boxes and monitors are minimized to the Windows taskbar. Normally, they would have to be restored one at a time, but the [Group Activate] function restores all of them when you restore one.

  • [Hide REDIPlus bar] - the REDIPlus Application bar is hidden, and the REDIPlus application icon is added to the Windows system tray. There are two ways to restore the Application bar: 1) double-click the REDIPlus icon, or 2) right-click the REDIPlus icon, select Properties from the shortcut menu, and clear the [Hide REDIPlus bar] button.

  • [Group Move] - groups all dialogs and monitors, so that when you move one (by clicking a Title bar and dragging the dialog or monitor to a new position), all other non-minimized dialogs and monitors maintain their relative position (i.e., they move as a group). Minimized dialogs and monitors are not affected by group moves, and when restored, appear in their last active position.

    • Once the Group Move option has been selected, you must press and hold the [Shift] key to change a component’s relative position within the group.

  • [Show Floating Toolbar] – replaces the REDIPlus Application bar with the REDIPlus Floating Application bar.

  • [Show Text] - displays text descriptions for each REDIPlus Application bar icon.

  • [Show Title] - displays “REDIPlus” on the REDIPlus Application bar.

  • [Show Tooltips] - displays ToolTips describing the various icons when you roll over them with your mouse.

  • [Show minimized windows] - when the Group Taskbar buttons option is selected, you can choose to represent any minimized dialogs and monitors with miniature Title bars just above the Windows taskbar. The Title bars will only be visible when you select the REDIPlus taskbar button.

  • [Group Taskbar buttons] - displays the individual taskbar buttons representing the open REDIPlus dialogs and monitors as a single REDIPlus taskbar button. All dialogs and monitors can be minimized and restored in a single step when you right-click the REDIPlus taskbar button and select the corresponding option.

  • Buttons - select or clear the checkboxes to add or remove the listed icons to/from the REDIPlus Application bar. You can also change their order of appearance by clicking the Move up and down buttons.

  • Monitors - If you have more than one monitor connected to your PC, select the radio button representing the one on which you want the REDIPlus dialog boxes and monitors to appear.

Time Zones

Enables you to do the following:

  • Select the Time Zone corresponding to the time displayed on the REDIPlus Application bar.

  • Configure the display time that is assigned to orders, executions, etc., (in the Message Monitor and Price Ticker) based on the combination of Country of Exchange and Time Zone that you select.

When you select Time Zones, the Use Time Zone for Country dialog box appears.

Select the REDI Bar radio button and your local Time Zone defaults below. If you want to change it, click [Change Time Zone] and select the time zone from the Select time zone dialog box. Select or clear the Use daylight savings time checkbox as necessary.

AND/OR

Select the Order Data radio button and then select the country that corresponds to the exchange to which you are submitting transactions, etc., in the Country of Exchange drop-down list box. For example, if you are submitting orders to the London exchange, you can select Great Britain (UK) from the Country of Exchange drop-down list box. Your local Time Zone defaults below. If you want to change it, click [Change Time Zone] and select the time zone from the Select time zone dialog box. Select or clear the Use daylight savings time checkbox as necessary. Repeat this process as necessary to configure the time zone applicable to additional countries.

Two buttons allow you to process all of the values in the Country of Exchange drop-down list box at once:

  • Click [Set All Like Current] to set the time zone for all countries to the currently displayed Time Zone.

  • Click [Reset All To Local] to set the time zone for all countries to your local (default) Time Zone.

Windows

Enables you to switch to any open REDIPlus dialog box or monitor. A limited number are displayed on the menu itself. To view a complete list, access the Windows dialog box.

Restore

Restores all minimized REDIPlus dialog boxes and monitors.

Minimize

Minimizes all active REDIPlus dialog boxes and monitors.

Recent File

Lists the recently modified Workspace Workspace files capture REDIPlus settings and configurations at the point that you save them, just as if you took a snapshot of REDIPlus. files (.rws). You can select a file to open it.

Help

Opens the REDIPlus Help file. Use the Contents, Search, and Index tabs to find the Help topic you want, or click the links in the topic pane to navigate (drill down) in the Help file. See the Using the REDIPlus Help File for more information.

About REDIPlus

Provides you with information about the version of REDIPlus, the Server to which it is connected, etc.

Shut Down

Will prompt you to save the changes to your Workspace Workspace files capture REDIPlus settings and configurations at the point that you save them, just as if you took a snapshot of REDIPlus. and then shut down.
