Quote Bar

Displays Level I Real-time bid/ask quotes for securities trading on the NASDAQ stock market and comparable information for securities quoted in the OTC Bulletin Board Service. and performance data corresponding to the security you entered in the dialog box or monitor. The majority of the data displayed on the Quote bar is commonly known. One exception is the Misc field, which may contain the following icons:

Down Tick/Bid - indicates that the last tick (for Listed stocks) or Bid direction (for NASDAQ stocks) was down or unchanged from the previous down tick.

Up Tick/Bid - indicates that the last tick (for Listed stocks) or Bid direction (for NASDAQ stocks) was up or unchanged from the previous up tick.

Country - indicates the country in which the primary exchange that is trading the security is located.

Auction - indicates that the symbol entered is currently in an auction.

NMS - indicates that the symbol entered is a National Market Security (NASDAQ) stock.

OTC BB Stock - indicates that the stock is an OTC Bulletin Board stock for a company that is SEC reporting. OTCBB stocks cannot be traded through REDIPlus and are shown for informational purposes only.

Pinksheet - indicates that the stock is a Pink Sheet stock for a company that is not SEC reporting. A Pinksheet stock cannot be traded through REDIPlus and is shown for informational purposes only.

Small Cap - indicates that the NASDAQ stock has a relatively small market capitalization. Generally, a company between $300 million to $2 billion in market cap is considered a small cap.

Uniform Practice Code - indicates that a locate for the stock must be secured before selling it short (NASDAQ only).

The Size field also requires some explanation. It displays the cumulative volume of the best Bid and Ask quotes in the following format:  Bids x Asks, or 50 x 100.
