Working with Column Headers

Most monitors with View panes have Column Headers that define the data displayed. You can customize the Column Headers through the Fields, Sorting, and Grid  tabs of the Properties dialog box (see the Fields Tab,  Sorting Tab, and Grid Tab topics  for more information), or you can customize them on the monitors themselves.

Resizing Column Headers

Move your mouse over the right side of the column header you want to resize until the pointer becomes a. Then click and drag the column header border to the left or right. All other Column Headers keep their current size; if you widen a column header such that other Column Headers move beyond the view pane’s right border, a scroll bar is added to the pane.

Removing Column Headers

To remove an individual column header, move your mouse over the right side of the column header you want to remove until the pointer becomes a. Then click and drag the column header border to the left until the column header disappears. Once you release your mouse button, the column header is removed and can only be re-added through the Fields tab of the Properties dialog box; see the Fields Tab topic for more information.

Column headers can be removed as a whole through the Grid tab of the Properties dialog box; see the Grid Tab topic for more information.

Re-ordering Column Headers

Click the column header you want to move. Then click and drag it along the row of Column Headers and drop it in its new position.

Sorting by Column Headers

You can sort data in a view pane on the fly by double-clicking the column header by which you want to sort. REDIPlus applies an ascending sort by default. Double-click the same column header again to apply a descending sort . If you want to establish a more sophisticated sorting scheme, use the Sorting tab to specify up to four layers of sorting criteria; see the Sorting Tab topic for more information.

The Position Monitor enables you to group position data by Symbol, Account, Sector, and Industry, or based on User Defined groups and then Symbol and Account for contrast/comparison purposes. When grouped, data is displayed hierarchically; parent data rows (which reflect the primary grouping option selected) can be expanded to show child (subordinate) data, and sorting can be applied to the data at both levels:
