Average Directional Movement Index

The Average Directional Movement Index Indicator evaluates the strength of the current upward or downward trend. Values are measured on a scale of zero to 100, but readings above 60 are rare. Low readings, below 20, indicate a weak trend and high readings, above 40, indicate a strong trend.

ADX

The color of the line representing the Average Directional Movement Index.

-DI

The color of the line representing the negative (downward movement) Directional Indicator.

+DI

The color of the line representing the positive (upward movement) Directional Indicator.

Periods

The number of rolling periods [e.g., Historical (days), Intraday (minutes, hours, etc.)] considered in the Average Directional Movement Index calculation. The default value is 14.
