Hot Keys Tab |
You can assign hot keys to the REDIPlus actions that you perform most frequently on the Hot Keys tab. Rather than using your mouse, you can press the single key or combination of keys you assign to perform the corresponding action. In this way, you can speed up your processing or address your preference for keyboard-centric processing.
The Hot Keys tab consists of two group boxes: the Commands group box, where you select the action to be assigned a hot key, and the Hot Key group box, where you assign the key or combination of keys to the action selected.
Refer to the Properties Tabs table to determine which REDIPlus dialog boxes and monitors have a Hot Keys tab on their Properties dialog box.
Right-click a REDIPlus dialog box or monitor, select Properties from the shortcut menu, and the Properties dialog box appears.
Click the Hot Keys tab.
Select an action category from the first drop-down list box in the Commands group box, and the corresponding actions appear in the list box below. There are three action categories from which to select:
Dialog box or monitor specific actions (e.g., Montage, Order Entry).
Common actions applicable to all REDIPlus dialog boxes and monitors.
CacheView actions specific to the data displayed in REDIPlus monitors (e.g., copy data to the cache, delete columns, display properties).
Select the action in the list box to which you want to assign a Hot Key.
If you select a MarketMakerID action (e.g., Buy SNet MarketMakerId), select the Market Maker’s ID from the drop-down list box below the action list box, or enter it manually. Otherwise, continue with the next step.
If the action (or MarketMakerID) you select already has a Hot Key assigned, you must clear it before assigning a new one. Click [Clear], and the Hot Key field is cleared.
Click the Hot Key field and then type the key or combination of keys to be assigned to the action you selected. You can use a single function key (e.g., [F2] - [F12]), or any combination of [Ctrl], [Alt], [Shift] and a function key or standard key (e.g., [Ctrl] + 2, [Shift] + [F7], [Alt] + A, etc.).
Certain key combinations are invalid due to a conflict with Windows functionality. For example, [F1] is already assigned as the universal Help key, and the [Shift] key is invalid except when used with a function key.
Once you have entered the Hot Key, click [Assign] to assign it to the action you selected. You can then assign another Hot Key by selecting another action, etc., or click [OK] to return to the dialog box or monitor.
You can click [Reset All] at any time before you click [OK] to undo all of the changes you’ve made on the Hot Keys tab.
Right-click a REDIPlus dialog box or monitor, select Properties from the shortcut menu, and the Properties dialog box appears.
Click the Hot Key tab.
Select an action category from the first drop-down list box in the Commands group box, and the corresponding actions appear in the list box below.
Select the action in the list box from which you want to clear a Hot Key.
Click [Clear], and then [OK] to process the change.
