You can add or remove shares from the goals in your Trade List, as well as add uniquely defined new goals through the List Adjustment dialog box.
Select the Portfolio Trader
icon
from the REDIPlus Application bar,
and Portfolio Trader appears displaying all of the Trade Lists you imported
today in the Summary pane.
If you have not yet imported a Trade List, or you want to import another,
refer to the To import a Trade List
topic for more information.
The List Adjustment tool can be used as part of the Trade List creation process; you can manually enter Trade List goals after importing Trade List data.
Click
the List Adjustment
button on Portfolio Trader’s toolbar,
and the List Adjustment dialog box appears.
You can facilitate the List Adjustment process by selecting existing goals from the Summary pane before accessing the List Adjustment dialog box. The List Adjustment dialog box will populate the Parameters fields with data corresponding to the data row you selected in the Summary pane, but only when specific values can be garnered. For example, the Symbol, the dialog’s Title bar, and the Side will be populated if you select a row from the Stocks view, where a single Symbol value and Side combination corresponds to each row. If you select a row from the Summary view, only the Side will be populated, as a single Symbol value is not available.
The goal that is adjusted is based solely on the Parameters you enter, regardless of the data row selected from the Summary pane. For example, if you select the Consumer Staples data row from the Sector view and then enter Apple Computer’s symbol in the Symbol field, the data row that will be adjusted (or created if it does not yet exist) in the Sector view will pertain to the Information Technology sector.
Select the Trade List you want to adjust from the Trade Lists list box.
You can also create a new Trade List by clicking [New List]. When the New List dialog box appears, select an account from the Accounts list box, enter the name of the Trade List in the New List field, and the click [OK]. The new Trade List will be added to the Trade Lists list box.
Specify the List Adjustment Action by selecting the Add to goal or Remove from goal radio button.
Type the symbol corresponding to the goal you want to adjust in the Symbol field.
If you do not know the symbol of the stock, click and perform a search for it. See the Symbol Search topic for more information about the Symbol Search functionality.
Select the side corresponding to the goal you want to adjust from the Side drop-down list box.
Enter the number of shares you want to add or remove from the goal in the Quantity field; the Quantity field provides you with three different ways to enter this value:
Enter the value manually (i.e., key it in).
Increase or decrease the value by clicking the
to the right of the field.
Use the drop-down calculator (click
).
When finished, click [Submit], and your Trade List is adjusted based on the values you entered.
